CHAPTERS – Commercial

A solid marching bass line adorned with fine bells and circled by a rough lead, which suddenly attracts full attention with a wide-open filter and disappears again in the next second. Just as the dynamic pictures are demanding it.

3 VS. 1 – Film Scene

Heavy dissonant pad and bell sounds are creeping up, crushing each other ominously, then disappearing abruptly as crisp, raspy bass notes depose them. Leaving the pictures in between without protection and footing - matching the girl’s situation perfectly.

IN THE UNDERGROUND CAR PARK

A restrained bass groove constantly pushed by screamingly high, yet inconspicuous bleeps, is suddenly interrupted by shrill lead-pieces smashing the whole scenario and leaving the images as well as the girl overwhelmed by the action.

CROSSING RED LIGHTS

Heavily overturning bass and lead waves swirling around a melancholic bell until it gets finally smothered by drowning noise.

DON´T YOU TRUST ME

A wonderful shallow pad slowly choked by dirty puddles of noise whilst being gored by a frantic aggressive sawtooth bass rhythm.

PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE

A calm arpeggio strengthened by concise bass delays as haunting chords creep up and mystic lead impulses sink in giant reverb tails.

Bio

TRU. has been releasing electronic music on various labels since 2016, including Loot Recordings (USA), Mood Family (Belgium) and Blankframe (Germany). His early techno tracks have found their way onto the turntables of John Tejada, Troy Pierce, DJ Hell, Martin Landsky and Raz Ohara – for whom he also worked as a remixer on the ‚Hölle EP‘.

Today he focuses on art-related projects, film and TV music. His debut album ‚Berlin Noize‘ was released in 2021 and was part of the audiovisual Gesamtkunstwerk ‚BERLIN NOIZE‘ – a collaboration with the artist _4.x, which was exhibited in Berlin during April 2023. French electronic music pioneer Laurent Garnier said: „Absolutely love the album!“ and featured the tracks on his radio station PBB.

TRU.’s motivation in making music is to create a true sound. And while that might mean different things to different people, for him it’s a combination of passion, work and patience.

Sometimes that means tweaking a few knobs in a matter of seconds. Other times it means deleting several hours of studio work and going back to square one.

All of this is true sound.

All of this is TRU.
